Guiding Principles
The Willow Group takes a strength-based approach with clients and starts with a natural assumption that every individual begins their leader journey with a powerful set of talents, skills and abilities. When strengths are embraced and leveraged the client is more aligned and positioned to achieve their career and leadership goals.
The Willow Group approaches its work with the following focus:
Engaging all clients with the demonstrated values of Intention, Excellence, Courage and Honesty
Creating individual awareness with feedback, assessments and an invitation to go deeper
Deepening resilience through powerful coaching and provocative inquiry
Building skill in language and speech acts
Appreciating the body, mind and spirit of the client
Reframing problems as opportunities
Holding the client accountable to achieve outcomes and objectives
Silenced and Sidelined: How Women Leaders Find Their Voices and Break Barriers
by Carrie Lynn Arnold Ph.D (Author)
In the age of multiple equity movements, it is critical to explore an unspoken nuance--the silencing of women leaders. Carrie Lynn Arnold calls attention to the history and complex dynamics that can suppress a leader’s voice while offering solutions for change.
As a feminist rhetorician who has long worked at the intersection of silence and listening, I'm delighted with Arnold's study of women, silence/silencing, and leadership. For me, hers is an important cross-over book, one that beautifully transports academic research into workplace understandings--and applications! - Cheryl Glenn, PhD, University Distinguished Professor of English, Penn State University, author of "Rhetorical Feminism and This Thing Called Hope"

A willow tree root is strong, tough, tenacious, and has the ability to grow and spread life almost everywhere it is planted. Unlike its root, the willow branch is small yet resilient and won't crack under the pressure of fierce weather and storm.
Resilient leaders know who they are and what they stand for; they know their strengths and they have the ability to return to their center in the face of pressure, challenge and stress.
Resilient organizations are innovative, versatile and transparent with a strong foundation that keeps them grounded in their purpose.
