In 2016, I completed my dissertation on the silenced female leader and have been writing and presenting my research findings.  It is clear there is more to learn about this topic.  In 2018 I’m conducting another wave of research to broaden the study sample.  The purpose of my research is to explore silencing theories with women in leadership.  I want to examine how women feel silenced in their executive roles.  The participants will need to describe in rich detail who or what has silenced them and the impact of those silencing experience(s) on them as a person and a leader.  The research will include exploring how these same women moved from feeling silenced to feeling heard.  There is limited research on the impact of silencing on women in leadership, and the current silencing theories have not been researched with a leadership audience.  By studying executive women’s experiences with silencing and voice, I hope to contribute to the fields of social science, the practice of leadership development and executive coaching.

Thank you for your interest in continued research on the silenced female leader.  Please complete the demographic survey below to qualify for the study.  Your results are confidential and you will be contacted regarding participant next steps upon survey completion.
